TAGGRS Tracking Tags: Data Is Being Collected Message

Troubleshooting for TAGGRS Tracking: Data is being collected message stays longer than 10 minutes. This guide provides solutions for problems like this and more.

You've started with your TAGGRS account and are ready to dive into the world of Server Side Tracking. After installing the TAGGRS tracking tags, you notice that you see the message 'Data Is being collected' for a longer period. This article addresses the most common reasons for this specific situation, organized from most to least frequent.

1. Low minimum traffic

The TAGGRS Data graphs only show data from a minimum of 10 events. So it may be that the graph shows data for pageviews but not yet for certain conversions because pageviews are easily 10+ with conversions this can sometimes take longer. Solution: Wait a bit longer.

2. Delay in incoming data

When the data is sent from google tag manager to TAGGRS, there can be a delay. This can take up to 30 minutes.

3. Incorrect Trigger Setup

A common issue that can cause the "Data is being collected" message to persist is an incorrectly configured trigger in Google Tag Manager (GTM). This may occur if the trigger does not fire as expected, which prevents the TAGGRS tracking tags from executing properly. To resolve this:

  • Verify Trigger Configuration: Check the trigger conditions in GTM to ensure they match the intended user interactions or page conditions where tracking should occur.
  • Test the Trigger: Use the Preview mode in GTM to test if the trigger is firing as expected when the conditions are met.
